Concert for Understanding of Civilizations & Human Rights Fundraising Gala
Pushkin Legacy was honored to participate in sponsoring the 2nd Concert for Understanding of Civilizations & Human Rights Gala Dinner, hosted by the United Nations in Geneva. Two beautiful works by the acclaimed Russian artists, Boris Chetkov (1926-2010) and Nikolai Timkov (1912-1993), donated bythe Pushkin Legacy were auctioned at the event raising $45,000, with proceeds benefiting international art programs directed by the United Nations Human Rights Commission.
This special evening was organized by the Fundación Onuart whose mission is to enhance the value of art as a catalyst for dialogue. Through art, Onuart seeks to stimulate debate at the highest level to inspire tolerance and understanding between nations and cultures.
Guests for the extraordinary event (which was held at the UN Grand Palais) included international dignitaries and celebrities from across the globe, with such luminaries as Former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, Maestro Daniel Barenboim and many others.
In recognition for his longstanding diplomatic efforts and working relationship with Onuart, Pushkin Legacy Founder, Kenneth Pushkin, was honored at the event to be appointed as Onuart’s High Representative for the United States.
